Changing the overall size of your tire will change your speedometer accuracy, this application will tell you what your speedometer will read when you’re actual speed is 60 miles per hour.  In addition it will tell you what the change in your ground clearance will be.

Q.  How do I find the dimensions of my tire?

A.  The dimensions of your tire are listed on the side of each of your tires.  It will contain three numbers representing the width, aspect ratio, and the size of your wheel.

Q.  How do I know which number is for what?

A.  The tire dimensions are listed on the side of your tire in order.  The first number is a 3 digit number, this number represents the tire width.  The second number is the Aspect Ratio.  And the third number is the size of your wheel.

Q.  I see letters mixed in with the numbers on my tire.  What are these?

A.  In addition to the size of the tire the ratings for the tire are listed.  The tire information is typically listed in a format that looks like this: ‘P225/50R16‘  The letter at the beginning represents the type of tire (passenger/light truck…) and the second letter precedes the wheel size.  This letter represents speed rating of your tire.
